Periodontal treatment

Periodontal (gum) treatment is a process to get your gums back to health and help you smile with confidence.

Gum disease frequently exhibits the following signs or symptoms:

  • Bleeding gums
  • Gums that are swollen, red, and/or sensitive
  • Sensitivity and pain in the teeth
  • Breath with a bad odour pus in the gums
  • Having difficulty chewing or biting

Your dentist and hygienist will thoroughly examines your gum health and categorise your treatment needs under active, unstable and advanced gum disease and advise you on treatment needed prior to embarking on treatment. Certain advanced cases will be referred in house to be treated by Dr Escoda-Francoli who has a special interest in Periodontology.

Periodontal assessments include measuring and recording periodontal pockets, gum recession, and mobile teeth. Treatments offered are routine care, stabilisation phase and maintenance phase.

We schedule a follow-up session to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment.
